~ Over a third of entries achieve top A* grade ~
Students and staff at Newstead Wood School are celebrating today as Sixth Formers receive their A Level results and university offers.
Once again we have achieved superb results with over a third (35%) of entries achieving the top A* grade and 30% achieving A grades. An impressive 85% of entries achieved A*-B grades. Almost a fifth (19%) of students achieved straight A*s. These excellent results have enabled students to secure places at the most prestigious universities including the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, University College London, the University of Warwick, Imperial College London and the University of Bristol.
Commenting on students’ achievements, Alan Blount, Head Teacher at Newstead Wood School, said:
“Congratulations to all our students receiving such well-deserved grades today. Despite a challenging and disruptive two years, these students have worked incredibly hard and should be rightly proud of what they have achieved. They have shown real determination and perseverance and are a credit to themselves, their families and our school community. I am delighted that so many have secured their first choice university and I wish them all the very best as they embark on the next chapter of their education.”
