Newstead Wood School are very pleased to offer our students the opportunity to undertake the Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme. Students can undertake all three levels of the award - Bronze, Silver and Gold within the school.
We are very lucky to have a dedicated and skilled team of teachers, support staff and volunteers who all give up a large amount of their time to allow the award to be run within the school.
Students who wish to undertake the award normally begin with doing their Bronze award during Year 10, followed by their Silver award in Year 11 and then their Gold award during Years 12 and 13. Students can start the award at any level as direct entrants.
More information about the DofE Programme can be found on the DofE website at www.dofe.org

"The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award enables a young person to develop their mind, body and soul in a non-competitive environment. Its ability to elevate their self-confidence, skills and aspirations should never be underestimated. The whole experience will have an amazing influence on participants which will last for the rest of their life.’ DofE Leader’s Handbook 2009
