Physical Computing Kit Loan Scheme

Classroom sets of physical computing kits are available for primary and secondary schools to borrow from our hub.

We hold supplies of:

  • Crumble
  • Micro:bit
  • Raspberry Pi Pico
  • Raspberry Pi 3 B+
  • Bee-Bot
  • Dataloggers
  • Kitronik Chassis
  • Primary Tray
  • Robotics Tray

How it Works

  • Hubs can loan kits out, one per school, for either half or a whole term at a time.
  • The school should contact the hub initially to state which kit and which term they would like to loan for
  • The hub books the kit out, depending on availability
  • If the kit has not been loaned before, the school/teacher will need to complete a short 90 minute training session on how to use it – training can either be here at Newstead or we may be able to arrange to come to you with the kit. (The hub will liaise and schedule the training session)
  • The school needs to sign a Loan Request Form (provided by the hub), agreeing to replace any missing parts if necessary
  • The school returns the kit (dates agreed with the hub)
  • On completion of the loan term, the school should complete our feedback form Physical computing hub kits: Feedback form for schools (google.com)

(Kits are very popular and always booked out so must be returned in time for the next term loan)
